From initial feasibility to full system expansion — ASR Systems LLC brings specialist expertise at every stage of an ASR project.
ASR Systems LLC typically teams with a local, experienced hydrogeologist at any new proposed ASR site. We bring engineering expertise and — where necessary — additional microbiology and geochemistry expertise for complex storage aquifer challenges.
For some projects, ASR Systems LLC provides complete project delivery from initial feasibility assessment through to construction, startup, and operational support. In this role, we serve as the ASR lead, coordinating all technical disciplines needed for a successful outcome.
For other projects, we serve as the ASR specialist advisor to a local lead engineer — bringing focused ASR expertise to a project being managed by a generalist firm or local engineering team. In all cases, our role is defined by what the project needs.
We follow a proven, structured approach that minimizes risk at each stage and builds confidence before major investment is committed. Each phase has clear deliverables and gates.
A comprehensive evaluation of the proposed ASR site covering: selection and prioritization of ASR objectives (more than 20 ASR applications identified to date), historic and projected water demands, water supply availability, water quality variability and treatment requirements, storage volume requirements, hydrogeology, geochemistry, ASR conceptual plans, economics, and legal/regulatory/institutional considerations.
Full engineering design, regulatory permitting, bidding, and construction of one or more full-size operational ASR wells and associated monitor wells. We operate the completed well through 2 to 3 full storage-and-recovery cycles to validate performance and establish the operational baseline before system expansion.
System expansion is often carried out in two or more stages, informed by the lessons learned from Phase 2 operations. This phased approach ensures that investment is always scaled to proven results — no over-commitment before performance is validated, and no under-investment when it has been.
ASR Systems LLC provides specialist services across the full range of ASR project needs — from feasibility through operations.
Comprehensive site and project evaluation covering hydrogeology, water quality, demand analysis, economics, and regulatory pathways.
Full engineering design of ASR wells, wellfields, monitoring networks, and surface infrastructure — tailored to the specific aquifer and site conditions.
Navigation of ASR regulatory frameworks, permit applications, and regulatory agency engagement — drawing on decades of experience with ASR-specific regulations.
